Intrigued by a free gift? Who wouldn't be? I mean for one thing you get something for nothing! Well, the free gift here is life... Yes life. Ok so you say to me if you're reading this then you're already alive and breathing and you'd be right. However, what about all that happens after this life? Christians believe that there is more than this life and that Jesus gives us a way to have eternal life in Heaven with God.
This is a crucial belief for Rebecca and all Christians; the fact that we can have eternal life in Heaven after our life here on Earth as long as we accept Jesus (by faith). But it doesn't stop there we are told to "go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19), which basically means that part of being a Christian is to pass this on to others; teaching them what we can.
Speaking from personal experience, I know that my life has been changed by accepting Jesus into my life. Even though I was brought up with a wonderful childhood, compared to most, I have in recent years been tested to almost breaking point and I'm sure that had I not got this faith I would not have got through it.
Christianity is more than a religion, it is a relationship... personal to everyone. A religion is more of a habitual sort of ritual; something you do for the sake of doing. However, being a Christian is having a relationship with God and it works like any other relationship you have with family or friends. In order to develop it you have to talk to the person and spend time with them. You will also be willing to do anything for them if you love them. This is what I feel is true of my personal Christian relationship with God.
